Matt from Nice Kicks has officially announced a release date for his first collaborative sneaker as a Austin, Texas-based footwear retailer. Compared to the red pair released back then, the new Gel Lyte III, known as “Nice Kicks 2.0″, features a more simpler colorway which makes them easier to match with more of your threads.Just like he did back in 2009 when Nice Kicks was still just a blog, Matt teamed up with Asics guru Ronnie Fieg to have a second-go at designing his own Gel Lyte III under the Nice Kicks brand name. As Matt describes it, this Gel Lyte III is “all grey and all business.” If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on a pair ever since previews of the shoes surfaced a couple weeks ago, you’ll be happy to know a release date has been set for October 1st, 2010. It hasn’t been made clear yet how many pairs will be available or if they’ll be releasing through DavidZ or just Nice Kicks’ Austin-location, so when more details become available we’ll let you know
