Different label, different haircut, same Wale. In 2008, LRG featured the young MC in a print ad published in Dime Magazine. The progressive spread saw Folarin draped in LRG from head to ankle donning the never-before-worn “Eggplant” Nike Air Foamposite One. The purple pair stole the show for sneakerheads while adding buzz to the budding artist and brand. Wale would become synonymous with Foamposite and the sneaker would eventually release twice.
Fast forward to 2011. Foamposite has moved from the nation’s capitol to the national market. 100 miles and running, ten plus releases and counting.
